Notas biográficasJorge Filipe da Silva Gameiro, licenciado pela Universidade do Porto em 1989, obteve o DEA (mestrado) em 'Astrophysique et Techniques Spatiales' pela Universidade de Paris em 1990 e doutoramento pela Universidade do Porto em 1996.
Foi assistente de 1993 a 1996, e desde entao é Professor Auxiliar no departamento de Matemática Aplicada, na Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto.
As áreas de interesse na investigação são o estudo de estrelas jovens de pequena massa e sua evolução, ventos estelares e actividade estelar.
Está também envolvido na divulgação da Astronomia em Portugal.
