Biographic notes
Catarina G.G. Lobo was awarded the "Licenciatura" in Physics/Applied Mathematics by the University of Porto in 1992, the DEA (M.Sc.) in Astrophysics by the University of Paris in 1993, and the Ph.D. in Astrophysics, by the same University, in 1997.

From October 1997 to October 2000, she was a post-doctoral research fellow, first at the Astronomical Observatory of Brera, Milan (supported by the "Consorzio Nazionale per l'Astronomia e l'Astrofisica di Italia", CNAA) till October 1999, and then, starting in January 2000, at the Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics of the University of Lisbon - Lisbon Astronomical Observatory (CAAUL/OAL), with a fellowship from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Since November 2000, she is a Lecturer at the Department of Applied Mathematics of the Faculty of Science of the University of Porto.

Her scientific working area is Extragalactic Astronomy/Observational Cosmology, where she deals in particular with observations and detailed study of the properties of nearby and distant galaxy clusters, and with the evolution of the galaxy population with redshift and environment.
