The Centro de Astrofísica da Universidade do Porto (CAUP) accepts applications for one teaching/research grant in the field of Cosmic Microwave Background data analysis, with funding from the Fullbright Scholar Program.

The grant is open to holders of a Ph.D. degree. The grant will have a duration of 3 months and are to be started on January 2013 (or a nearby date agreed with the host institution). The monthly allowance is 2800€.

The activity of this grant will consist on:

• One set of graduate lectures on a specific topic to be agreed between the host institution and the scholar. These lectures will be presented to CAUP staff and Ph.D. students; they will also be made accessible to master-level students and top-level undergraduates. A total of four lectures corresponding to about six contact hours.
• Collaboration with CAUP staff in exploring Planck Surveyor (and other data sets) for testing relevant cosmology and structure formation models.

A senior researcher with at least five years of experience is preferred.
