Abstract
Gaia is a very powerful tool that can and will be used to detect exoplanets (Jordi et al. 2010; Martin-Fleitas et al. 2014; Sahlmann et al. 2014; Casertano et al. 2008; Perryman et al. 2014), with astrometry and radial velocity methods as well. In this Cookie Seminar, three important factors related to that will be analyzed: the planet detection threshold, the astrometry movements by the stars (that can indicate the presence of planets) and the construction of a database of bright stars as observed from earth, to use as a potential star sample for exoplanet research. Additionally, some results obtained with the database and current population of stars observed with the different methods for exoplanet detection will be explored.
