Gaia and the search for other planets: combining astrometry and radial velocity

Abstract
The combination of radial velocity and astrometry methods and GAIA high-precision global astrometric measurements will strongly benefit the extrasolar planet research because it will allow us to derive more precise parameters.
I will talk about these two methods distinctly, plotting the expected RV curve of HD162020b and its expected astrometric orbital motion.
I will also show the RV and astrometric fit of alpha Centauri.
