Abstract
In this talk I will describe the principles of spectral synthesis technique for the derivation of the fundamental stellar parameters: effective temperature, surface gravity, metallicity, and rotational velocity. I will present a practical guide for the publicly available synthesis package: Spectroscopy Made Easy (SME). I will mainly focus on examples with real spectra. At the end of the seminar the attendants will have all the necessary information on how to use SME for their analysis.
