The asteroseismic diagram initially described by Christensen-Dalsgaard (1988)
plots the average small separations between
modes of degree =0,2 against the average large separations .
Here we show that even if the only modes available are of degree =0,1
the separations
and can be combined to give the internal
phase shift difference 1- 0 and hence a diagnostic
similar to, but different from, d02. We give an example of the =0,1
asteroseismic
diagram for the mean value d01 plotted against for a range of stellar
masses in different stages of evolution.
