Connectivity test reveals for the first time non-analytic functions underlying lightcurves of pulsating stars

Abstract
In this seminar I will introduce the latest advances in time series analysis applied to asteroseismology carried out by our team (IAA-CSIC and University of Granada). In particular I will introduce the first practical test ever done that evaluates the validity of the hypothesis on which Fourier theorem is based, i.e. the convergence of the expansion series. Likewise, I will discuss our latest results applied to photometric time series observed by space instruments (CoRoT and Kepler). These results show that the analysed lightcurves are originated by non-analytic functions. I’ll discuss the implication of such a result in asterosismology and future work.
