The Centro de Astrofísica considers one of its most important missions the promotion of knowledge and of scientific culture. To that purpose, CAUP promotes several programs and activities:

• Debates and lectures;
• Regular telescope observing sessions, and special observing sessions of specific astronomical events;
• Organization of exhibits;
• Hands-On astronomical related workshops.

CAUP also has an Astronomy library that is available to the public - the Astroteca.
