Writing telescope proposals is a key skill in astronomy, and while we use different telescopes, different instruments and do different science, there are certain concerns that are in common for all proposals. In this workshop I will review the proposal writing process and the main issues to be aware of and you will write proposals with a focus on the ESO facilities that will be discussed together in plenary.
