Outstanding Issues for Pre-Main Sequence Evolution
Francesco Palla
Observatorio Astrofisico di Arcetri, Largo E. Fermi, 5 - Firenze, Italy
After a brief review of the main results of pulsation studies of young stars, I will discuss some of the major open questions of PMS evolution: the impact of initial conditions from protostellar collapse models; the effect of binarity on the evolution; the problem of lithium depletion in low mass stars. Finally, the prospects for studying pulsations/oscillation in very low-mass stars and brown dwarfs will be presented.
