The school will take place in the auditorium of the University of Azores in the Angra do Heroísmo campus.

This campus is located very near the town centre (approx. 10 minutes walk).
The participants have the option to book a room at one of two 4-star hotels: Terceira Mar Hotel or Hotel do Caracol, both of them located at the sea front only a short walk away from the University and the town centre.
The rates for both hotels are 65€ - 73€.
Reservations must be placed via the University of Azores.

There is also the option to book a room at the university hostel, the rates are:

• Single room: 32€
• Double room: 16€

The university hostel prices don't include breakfast.

Angra do Heroísmo is the main town on the island of Terceira dating back to 1450 and is a Unesco World Heritage Site due to its architecture and historical significance. Terceira is a small volcanic island of the Azores archipelago with approximately 60 000 inhabitants.

Power plugs in Portugal
We use "SHUKO" power plugs. In practice these are the "same" as in Spain and Germany but are different from the French, US, UK and Italian ones. You can have some pictures of plugs at http://www.powercords.co.uk/standard.htm. You need to bring your own adapter/converter.

Weather
You can expect lovely warm sunny days with average temperatures of between 15 and 26°C (with some days reaching 30°C). It can be quite humid especially on the coast or in areas where there is a lot of vegetation.
If you are looking for a beach holiday with guaranteed sun, then the Azores are not the right destination for you. However, if you are looking for a holiday where visiting the beach is just one of many activities, then the Azores might well be the perfect destination!
