Statistical Anisotropy from D-brane Inflation I discuss the possibility to naturally generate statistical anisotropy in the curvature perturbation from D-brane models of inflation in Type IIB string theory. The U(1) gauge field that exists on the world volume of D-branes acts as a vector curvaton, giving a subdominant contribution to the curvature perturbation such that it acquires statistical anisotropy within the observational bounds. |
