What do we need to do in CoRoT age?

Eric Michel
Observatoire de Paris-LESIA, France

Abstract. CoRoT will be launched in one month from now. It will bring seismic observables (frequencies, amplitudes, modes life times,...) with a precision increased by several orders of magnitudes compared with the existing ones and thus contribute to make the stellar seismology enter a new era. At the time of interpreting these data, it is of prime importance to know the ultimate 'precision' of the numerical tools used to model the target stars and their oscillations and to know how it will be possible to disantangle what is significant in terms of physics and what is not. I will briefly review the observational programme as defined so far and illustrate the expected quality of the data. Then I will try to initiate the discussion on how ESTA activity can contribute, in the framework of CoRoT.
