Stellar Noise in exoplanet searches

P. Figueira

Abstract.
In this talk I will discuss how stellar noise affects exoplanet detections, with particular emphasis on the impact on radial-velocity measurements. I will provide examples of detections made impossible by stellar noise, of false positives, and of techniques used to characterize and minimize the stellar noise.
